Stone & Berg Company, Inc. is a fifth generation business, and was established in 1883 under the name Berg Lumber Company. In 1891 we moved to 99 Stafford Street in Worcester, where we would remain for over 100 years. In 1909 we became Stone & Berg Lumber Company after the acquisition of Gates Lumber and Stone & Foster Lumber. While the word "lumber" remained in our name until 1999, we became more focused on hardware in 1960, and by 1967 we were a full-fledged security hardware distributor.

The year 1973 was when we came out with our very first iteration of the Stone & Berg Price Book and Catalog. Back then it was printed of course, and each page put in a vinyl page protector and placed in a massive 5-inch-thick blue binder. These large binders would be delivered to our customers, and used for product reference and pricing.

In 2007, we moved down the road to our current location at 239 Mill Street, upgrading to a much larger warehouse and office space. We currently keep up on our Catalog and Price Book, and although it has certainly changed over time, it still provides the same service and value to our customers many years later.

We currently offer a wide variety of products for security professionals from over 90 manufacturers. Our central New England location allows us to deliver shipments next day to most of our Northeast customers, with same-day shipping for any order received by 5:00 PM. Our facility provides us with an area to host seminars on product, series, and vendor training, as well as other hands-on training for our customers.
